The retreat takes place this year from Sunday afternoon, December 15th to Sunday morning December 22nd in Nosara, Costa Rica at the eco wellness boutique hotel, Tierra Encantada.

The Early bird price for the retreat is $3,360, for the first three sign ups. To confirm the booking a 50% deposit is due. From 4 sign ups onward, the price is $3,800. The remaining balance is due September 15th. Payments can be made via credit card, Venmo or bank transfer.

The retreat payments are non-refundable. This is strict hotel policy. We highly recommend you purchase travel insurance in the unlikely event that last-minute cancellation is necessary. If you are unable to make the retreat in the end, your payment can be put toward another retreat within the next year..

Liberia, Costa Rica Airport is approximately a 2.5 hour drive from Tierra Encantada. Transportation to and from the retreat will be provided from the airport. If you are traveling a far distance, it is highly suggested that you arrive in the country a couple days before the retreat begins to help adjust to the time change. Make sure your incoming flight arrives by 1 PM and that your outgoing flight leaves after 1 PM.

Flights are not included. Gratuities for hotel staff also are not included.

A short supply list will be sent to attendees so they can purchase their general calligraphy materials before the retreat. Those materials should add up to approximately $50.

Alcoholic beverages and extra spa treatments are a separate fee. We suggest you bring USD for any personal shopping you’d like to do at the lovely local market and boutique shops. Dollars are readily accepted though the local currency is Colones.

All levels of experience are welcome! The group will be intimate so that everyone receives plenty of personal attention and assistance in whatever realm needed.

There are shared casitas, beautifully nestled in to the surrounding jungle . Specific roommates can be requested. We will do our best to pair participants up in a way that is comfortable for everyone

The retreat will not be certified Kosher, however the kitchen will be serving vegetarian and vegan food only and there will be no meat on the premises. Kosher food is available for order via Chabad San Jose.

Yes, this retreat is open to women only. Malka’s family (husband and two daughters) will make occassional scheduled appearances though :).
